My first visit to Scargill was to a Youth Weekend in November of 1968 or 1969, I can't remember exactly. In the following years, I've been visiting Scargill House every year (sometimes upto three times a year) right upto the current day.

In around 1973, I did think of joining the Community but never made it (I got a job at the University in 1974..). Over the years I have spent more time there than quite a few Community members...

I did become a Scargill Partner which was originally for 7 years, but carried on and up to 2008 had been a Partner for 27 years.
