Gathering on September 20th

On September 20th over 150 people gathered to find out how things were going, close to a year on from the meeting that brought together the steering group which worked to negotiate the future of Scargill House as it was put on the market.

Business Plan and Development Project

In the months since Scargill Movement acquired the property in April, a great deal of work has been done to develop a sustainable business plan for the future for Scargill as a prelude to defining a development project to provide the necessary facilities at Scargill for the forthcoming ministry. This work was started with the Council clarifying the mission and strategic objectives (see Vision statement).

Update August 8th

There has been  a delay in posting the notes from the July Council meeting, but we hope to do better from now on.

In the original schedule the next meeting was to be in September, but August 5th saw a gathering of most of the Council as various subgroup came together to do detailed work on elements of the business plan, and to reflect on the choice of architect. An appointment has been agreed by Council, expect an announcment shortly.

 

 
Update August 3rd

A report from Simon's wedding will follow when he and Caren are back from honeymoon. While he's away progress is still being made on the business plan. The Council meets in 'holiday' mode this week to discuss various items important to the planning process.

A brief has been produced for publicity design, including the logo. To express interest, e-mail this website.

Thank you everyone who has expressed interest by voting on the suggested designs on this site, your views will help to inform the design work. The Council is seeking to appoint someone to work with for at least the launch period in developing a range of materials.

Directing a project involves establishing a number of pre-requisites before the project can truly be up and running.  It's vital to know exactly what is required, together with well-considered budgets and timeframes.   The Scargill Movement Council has established various groups which are working in parallel so that meeting the target of opening fully in late Summer 2010 remains realistic.
