Meeting rooms

Scargill House offers you the use of numerous meeting rooms and associated public areas. We are very flexible, so if you have particular needs for a meeting, conference, seminar or teaching/training session, please call us to discuss how we can meet your requirements.

A laptop, portable data-projectors and speakers can be made available on request in any of our meeting rooms, along with lecterns and music stands. There is no additional charge for these.

The Marsh Lounge

marsh-loungeThe Marsh Lounge is our main conference room, seating 100 people conference-style. It is octagonal in shape, with 5 huge windows offering stunning panoramic views over both sides of Wharfedale, and a screen for film or digital projection. The room was built in a conscious echo of the Octagonal Lounge at Lee Abbey, Devon.

Equipment 8+2-channel mixer, speakers, mics, CD player, blu-ray DVD player, Freesat TV, digital projector and screen, whiteboard/flipchart holder. Instruments include piano, keyboard and drum kit. WIFI and laptop.

The Sun Lounge

sun-loungeThe Sun lounge is a lovely space to gather and enjoy tea and coffee, it also provides a useful additional space for break-out sessions. It offers spectacular views, and is where people gather to talk and chat, gaze at the view, read books, play games and watch the wild birds (and the inevitable squirrels!) at their feeders.

The Long Lounge

long-loungeThe Long Lounge is a comfortable space to sit and chat – useful for break-out groups, small group discussions, relaxing and reading. In the summer, the French windows allow you to enjoy the wide porch outside. There is also a television with a Freesat connection and a DVD player.

The Morning Room

morning-roomA comfortable smaller meeting room where the sunlight streams through a huge sash window. Ideal for meetings, craft activities, break-out groups or just a bit of peace and quiet!

The Upper Lounge

upper-loungeThe Upper Lounge is a multi-purpose space which can be used for meetings, talks, break-out groups, additional dining space, crafts and other activities. It contains a pool/snooker table and a piano, and has a sprung floor (which makes it well-suited to dancing!) The French windows overlooking the gardens make it a particularly welcoming room on a warm day, when activities can spill outside.

The Peaks Room

This room is at the top of the house and is set up to be a flexible space. The room can be used as a meeting room comfortably seating 50. It’s proximity to the beautifully maintained terraced garden area can make this a very tranquil place to be. Alternatively, once the chairs are neatly stored away this room becomes the perfect games room, with lot’s of space to run around, make noise and have fun.

The Den

the-denThe Den is in the Three Peaks wing, adjacent to the art room and games room. Situated away from other parts of the house, it’s a great place for loudness and laughter, so is particularly well-suited to youth events. It is furnished with cosy sofas and mixed lighting. Appropriate bedrooms are situated close by.
