Our bursary fund
We would love to offer the lowest possible prices at Scargill, but the fact that
we have a large estate to run (responsibly) means we have to cover our costs
with some left over for investment. We calculate our prices very carefully,
accordingly.
However, we recognise that there are times in all of our lives when finding the
money for the things we want (or need) to do can be difficult—and it can be at
times like this that people really do need to get away for a little refreshing.
We want to offer a welcome to everyone, and we would never want cost to prevent
anyone from coming to stay.
Our bursary fund enables us to offer a discount to
those who might genuinely not, otherwise, afford to come.
The grant made will
vary according to circumstances, but typically we can offer around 25% off.
Applications can be made in confidence to the director: there’s no form to fill
in: simply write to Phil Stone contact page or
email him.
Our bursary fund is well-used and makes a real
difference—so donations from other guests, made specifically for this purpose,
are always very welcome.
